Getting real with addiction
Addiction is still addiction even without the substances and we all have the ability to become addicted to a behavior. So you may not be addicted to tobacco or to food, but your brain gets the same rush and the same high when you’re gambling or watching porn, followed by the crash and all time low, until you seek out the same behavior again. Shawn exposes us to the idea of behavioral addiction, while emphasizing the importance of empathy and understanding. The truth about addiction lies in the underlying issues that drive people toward that behaviour, such as coping with anxiety or hiding low self-esteem.
Take control of your addiction.
